Background:

My passion for sport first started at the age of 5 when I began playing rugby league for my local team in Maitland NSW where I was born and raised. For the next 10 years I continued to play league as well as being actively involved in many other sports during my childhood including cricket, indoor cricket, soccer, basketball, athletics and baseball etc so as you can see my desire to be involved in sport was insatiable.

At the age of 15 I walked into the gym for the first time and my passion and love for training began. It was a local gym called “Come Alive” run by a former Mr Australia Leon Sidoti, at that time it was a haven for bodybuilders and powerlifters. I could not believe the size of some of the guys and instantly became inspired to look and lift as they did. With world record holding powerlifters and champion bodybuilders giving me plenty of motivation my size and strength gains soon followed. During those early years my diet and nutrition plan was very basic. See food and eat it.

2003 NABBA Australian Titles Class 2 1st place and Overall Mr Australia

2009 IFBB Australian Titles Heavyweight Division 3rd place

Advice:

If you have a weak bodypart, or don't enjoy training a certain bodypart in order for you to make substantial gains in these areas you need to change you mindset and learn to 'love' training these areas. Training these bodyparts with correct form and the same mindset as other more favourable bodyparts is the only true way to make improvements in these areas.
Keep training simple and stick to the basics:
The last set of every exercise is to be trained to absolute failure regardless of the weight used.
60% to 70% of your gains will come from correct diet and supplementation and this is the area most individuals fall short.
Make the adjustments as mentioned above and watch the gains follow!
